We are located in the stunning Peak District National Park and situated on the edge of Sheffield, the fourth largest city in the UK. Our location enables us to;

Bakewell is situated on the River Wye and famously known for its puddings, cattle market, Chatsworth House and an abundance of annual events. We are nestled in the heart of an area of outstanding natural beauty and the surrounding landscape incorporates;

Known as the ‘Steel City’, a title that was earned from its industrial heritage of the 19th century when it achieved an international reputation for steel production and became a significant influencer of the industrial revolution.

Today, with its’ firm links with the Peak District, Sheffield is nationally recognised as the ‘Outdoor City’. It still remains a city of innovation and is a vibrant place to be with a thriving cultural scene and home to a lively student population. The city is host to;

How to get here

We are positioned in the centre of England with excellent transport links to a number of regional airports, making access to Bakewell easy.

All UK airports are served by a number of low-cost economy airlines.

When booking your flight, we recommend using Manchester airport where possible as this is the shortest transfer time to Bakewell however, we are accessible from any UK airport.

Other regional airports include;

  • East Midlands
  • Birmingham
  • Leeds Bradford
  • Sheffield Doncaster

Once you have arrived in the UK;

  • transfer by train or bus to either Sheffield or Chesterfield where you will be met by one of our team
  • popular national passenger train and bus companies include; Trainline and National Express
  • If you choose to transfer by taxi you will continue directly to the end destination of Bakewell

Students arriving into Heathrow airport;

  • there is a direct bus from the airport to Chesterfield
  • there are several connections between Heathrow airport and the capital
  • London Underground’s Piccadilly Line provides the most cost-effective route to central London
  • onward travel by intercity trains to Chesterfield depart from London St. Pancras International station
  • journey time to Chesterfield by train is just over 2 hours

There are alternative gateways into the UK via the ferry ports of Hull and Newcastle or via Eurostar into London St. Pancras International station;

  • journey time Hull to Bakewell by car is 1 hour 30 minutes
  • journey time Newcastle to Bakewell by car is 2 hours 30 minutes

For students who wish to self-drive, car hire can be pre-arranged through a number of internationally recognised companies who will provide a car to your port of arrival;
